Stay tuned for more info. 22 Knitters and Crocheters met this week. Laura showed us how to do surface crocheting, to embellish finished pieces. We were joined by Amy Macari, our Special Olympics contact, who came by to pick up the 50 scarves we had for her (we delivered 30 in October as well). Susan from Whitney Needle Arts group also joined us and dropped off the 20 scarves her group had worked on. Dottie was working with Ivonne to write out a pattern for her fingerless mittens. She also had some more plarn bags in progress. Ivonne was also working on some striped hats for our (optional) first quarter ministry, Church Under the Bridge Karen S was finishing off the robe for her Death of Rats. Guest Sherry from Michigan, was working on a keyhole scarf. Sylvia finished her 16th pussy hat, and started the 17th. Honey started a hat to match one of the baby sweaters she's made, and was working on some doll bloomers, and donated 2 scarves. Dlaine was attatching the neck on her crocheted hippo. Jessica was making a pair of socks. Kimberly was working on the second of a pair of slippers. Connie was working on her Harbor Lights Circle Jacket. Yolande was trying to start a pair of baby booties. Kaitlan was practicing double knitting and donated 2 scarves, a hat and 2 lapghans. Doty was working on a new scarf Terry was working on a swimsuit cover up Newcomer Julie was making a messy bun hat Newcomer Katelyn was learning to crochet Karen F was working on a corner-to-corner afghan Laura finished last week's entrelac clutch Kay, Barbara and Denise dropped off some hats and scarves but couldn't stay. Sixteen Waco Knitters and Crocheters joined us for our monthly Knit @ Nite meetup. Talented Waco Knitter and Crocheter Laura has been experimenting with entrelac, and she brought knitted and crocheted samples to show us how it's worked. Thank you, Laura! Several people brought donations for our (optional) first quarter charity, Church on the Bridge, and for last year's (optional) fourth quarter charity, Special Olympics. Amy Macari, our SO contact will be at our next meeting to collect all the scarves we've brought in. This Thursday, Jan 26th, Waco Knitters and Crocheters will host our biweekly meetup from 5 - 8pm in the Meeting Room (front left) of the West Waco Library (5301 Bosque Boulevard #275, Waco, TX 76710)
