Oct 27th the Waco Knitters celebrated our 7th Anniversary with a wonderful Luncheon at The Baylor Club in McLane Stadium dining al Fresco on a lovely autumn day. Friends, Fun and Food. Followed by a visit to Magnolia @ The Silos soft opening. 28 Waco Knitters & Crocheters met October 22nd for socialization, inspiration and a Mug Rug Swap. Welcome newcomers April, Steven, Doris & Betty, Emily and Deborah! Karen is knitting her 8th baby sweater. This one with waves and whales. D'Laine is seaming a gorgeous blanket for a friend. Kristina is knitting a pretty pink-ish hat. Lauren is knitting a shawl of her own design. Julie is knitting a Special Olympic scarf. Betty is learning to loom knit and brought her friends Alice, Steven & Doris. Carmen is crocheting. Olivia is knitting an amazing variegated shawl. Jessica is knitting a sweater for her Grandma. Ivonne is knitting socks. Mike is cross-stitching. Tina is knitting a lace shawl with beaded yarn. Rachel is crocheting a cabled Christmas wreath. Rachel's Mom Deborah is visiting. Lori is crocheting a Chunky pattern. Terry is crocheting a Special Olympic scarf. Emily is knitting socks. Barbara is recouping from her trip back east. Rebecca had baby hats, and a veterans scarf/hat set for donation and is knitting a two-sided cabled scarf. Hannelore is crocheting baby football hats. Laura is crocheting Halloween puppets Kimberly is knitting fish hats for Christmas. And the Mug Rug Swap followed and .here are the photos. On Saturday Oct 10th and 17th, Waco Knitters, Crocheters & friends demonstrated knitting, crochet & cross stitch at the Heart of Texas County Fair & Rodeo. 23 members participated. Several fair goers stopped and chatted and "Yes, people still knit." lol. Thanks to all who demonstrated, sat around and stitched, chatted and enjoyed the corny dogs! Seen here is the first group of Texas Special Olympic scarves knit and crocheted by Waco Knitters Denise, Terry and Lauren. Well done!!
