Waco Knitters descended on DFW Fiberfest held at the Irving Convention Center March 28 - 30th.... Nineteen people made it to Knitting Circle yesterday. We collected another 105 baby hats, toys, blankets, bringing the year-to-date total to 605. The 1st quarter 2014 Providence Baby Hat goal was 200 so we've surpassed our goal by three times. Thanks all. "Generosity Blooms". Fiberfest is this weekend... if you are attending and you'd like to meet up, join us in the Stitching Lounge around 1pm each day and share your fun with other Waco Knitters. It's time for another Sip Sup Knit! This one will be on April 3 at Chipotle Mexican Grill on Valley Mills (on the diagonal corner from Mama Fu's). See the menu ahead of time and join us for a fun evening!
We had a great time yesterday at the Mayborn Museum. We taught the kids (and adults) how to make crochet chain bracelets. Everyone had a great time! We delivered 329 baby hats to Providence at the beginning of March, and then collected another 163 hats at our meeting on March 11. That puts us at 492 hats, over halfway to our year-long goal. Wow! This is the first time we've met/exceeded Providence Hospital 120+/- births per month. Great job everybody! Thanks to everyone who donated yarn, knit and crocheted hats, and even thought about helping. We know all the moms appreciate it! |
