Welcome newcomers Julia and Barbara P! They even got some Marjie Yarn as a 'welcome' gift. J. Barbara and Julia have both made these great felted totes and had one to show. Very nice. Hannelore is working on crib mattress sewing. Donna is working a beautiful new knit stitch and making a yellow cradle blanket. Jessica is crocheting a unicorn to lure something something something... Vi brought magazines for the veterans, cones of yarn to give away, and hand crafted baby booties and hats for Providence newborns. Such generosity! Joyce H was busy creating already with two colors of Vi's cone yarn. Barabara H came from a busy day at work and enjoyed the laughs while knitting. Kimberly is knitting a lovely variegated scarf. Cynthia M is working on a crocheted baby blue sweater. Wendy joined us from Irving and is knitting a pretty afghan. Sharon is crocheting a blue and white granny square baby blanket. Rebecca got some help with a knitting a pattern. Cynthia R brought many wonderful adult and baby hats for donation. Karen S is knitting a TARDI (did I get it right??) scarf and cradle blanket using Marjie Yarn. Laura is crocheting a Super Chunky cradle blanket with Marjie Yarn. Barbara L flew in at the last and shared her two bags of Friends for Life yarn for Waco Knitters to help her make hats for Friends for Life clients. Today Waco Knitter Jessica delivered 408 baby hats hand-crafted by Waco Knitters (& Friends) to Providence Hospital to be distributed to Waco area newborns. THANK YOU for your kind spirits and generosity!! Our year-to-date total is now 737 hand-crafted baby hats, stuffed toys and booties. We shared a stack of Marjie's patterns and 5 project's worth of Marjie Yarn. Eight of us went to the Baylor Baseball game for our Stitch-n-Pitch. BU won and several of us got stitching accomplished between cheers. Not one drop of rain either! Marjie Lou Troutman Haning died peacefully in her home on Tuesday, April 22, 2014. Marjie was born in Denver, Colorado, on September 18, 1948. During her life she enjoyed many things; Bible studies, knitting, quilting, paper artwork, traveling, spending time with her family, and chatting with friends.
